The CAC invites you to a special virtual meet-up on December 9, 6:00-7:00 PM EST. Lisa Perry, a professional yoga instructor, will guide attendees in several easy yoga exercises and a relaxation session. Lisa is generously donating her time. Participants should dress comfortably and have a carpet space or mat. They should also have a chair, couch or wall and extra blanket available to use during the session. The session will last 20 minutes.
After the session, we will have time for conversation. After a stressful 2020, let’s end the year with relaxation and conversation with our STC community. See you there!
Lisa Perry, owner of Yoga at the Farm, (now Yoga from Home Studios) is currently teaching online from home and hybrid classes from Valley Crest Farm in Lebanon, NJ. Lisa has taught yoga classes in the Hunterdon County area for 17 years.
Lisa’s instruction experience includes: group and individual classes for people with special needs and considerations, classes for students and staff in schools, programs with the county parks system, volunteering at nonprofit organizations and corporate training programs. Lisa also offers workshops in meditation, restorative yoga, singing bowls, therapeutics and yoga hikes.
For more about Lisa, check out Lisa’s Facebook page.
Lisa is offering all STC participants an unlimited class package for December for $45 or individual classes for $8. To register attendees should contact her at the email on the schedule.
As the days grow shorter and the end of the year approaches, I want to send some helpful reference information as you prepare your 2020 CAA and Pacesetter Award applications.
Community Achievement Award
The Community Achievement Award (CAA) recognizes a SIG/COP, professional, or student chapter’s outstanding accomplishments in achieving the Society’s goals through a wide range of programs and activities.
The CAA application provides a fantastic roadmap that helps your community work toward goals throughout the year, and it is also a way to formally showcase the work your volunteers have done in your community. It recognizes activities completed during the 2020 calendar year, and all communities are encouraged to apply! The CAA process determines the “Most Improved Community” award and the prestigious “Community of the Year” award.
The CAA application is a Word document. You can submit your application in Word format, .PDF format, or any other format you feel most comfortable with, as long as you do not change the order or wording of the original application. When you are ready to submit the final application, you have a couple of options:
- Create a shared drive (Google Drive, Dropbox, other) and submit a Word document or zip file with the written responses and corresponding links to supporting evidence.
- Include the application and supporting evidence in a zip file and send to the committee.
Please remember: read the guidelines carefully and check all links to supporting evidence before submitting your application.
Applications are due: 31 January 2021

Community Pacesetter Award
STC’s Community Pacesetter Award recognizes innovative and successful community initiatives. Unlike the CAA award, which recognizes communities for consistent strength in many varied activities, the Pacesetter Award recognizes the successful implementation of a single beneficial innovation that may be shared with and implemented by other STC communities. During this unprecedented year, we have seen many examples where our community volunteers are finding new and innovative opportunities to connect, educate, and inspire our members. This is your chance to be recognized for those innovations!
Applications are due: 31 January 2021

If you have any questions about the application process for these awards, please do not hesitate to contact me at email@example.com.
On behalf of the CAA and Pacesetter Awards Committee, sincere thanks to all of you for your dedication to the STC and for your incredible volunteer efforts throughout the year!
Wishing you a safe and healthy holiday season,
