Who’s There for Communities? Meet the CAC Team for 2016 -2017
Community leaders will be glad to hear that once again, the STC Community Affairs Committee (CAC) has got their back in 2016-2017. If you need help, feel stuck, or just want ideas, look to the CAC as your connection to STC resources, Board of Directors, and staff.
Let’s introduce this year’s team so you can reach out.
Succession Planning Task Force Lead
Lori Meyer heads up the Succession Planning Task Force. Lori, an STC Fellow, is a leader and volunteer in eight STC communities. She has served in several community leadership roles, including chapter president, SIG co-manager, secretary, treasurer, and membership manager. Currently, she serves as president of the Washington DC-Baltimore Chapter, co-manager of the Instructional Design and Learning SIG, and membership manager of five chapters. She also has served as a competition judge and a mentor. She is working on putting all of this experience to work to help fellow community leaders stay enthusiastic about their involvement with STC and plan for ongoing success.
Lori lives in northern California, where she develops and edits content for cloud-based software applications.
Contact Lori when you want to build and maintain strong community leadership teams. She loves to hear about leadership success stories and challenges!

Succession Planning Task Force Member
Sean Stevenson, Immediate Past President of the Washington, DC-Baltimore chapter of STC, is a technical communicator working in business development. He started as a creative writer who taught writing on the side, and eventually realized he needed a career, not just a means to support himself. In 2008, he took a job at Northrop Grumman in Maryland as a Technical Editor. Over time, he found his way into business development and in 2013, took a job as a proposal manager at EMCOR Government Services in Arlington, VA. Sean has an MFA in playwriting from the Actors Studio Drama School and a B.A. in Humanities from the University of Chicago. He teaches yoga in his spare time and wants to teach English as a Foreign Language again.
